What is an online auction?

An Online Auction is a process of buying and selling goods by offering them up for sale, taking bids, and then selling the item to the winning bidder.  This type of auction is limited to online customers only.

What is a live auction?
Live Auctions allow website customers to bid online against onsite customers at the live auction house.  Both website customers and onsite customers view the bidding in real time. Online customers may also bid on items in advance, which will serve as a starting point for live auctioneers.

What is the online store?
At the Online Store customers can view items for sale along with the descriptions and photographs and then purchase the items instantly.

How can I buy something from tucsonliveauction.com?
Making a purchase at TucsonLiveAuction.com is simple. The general steps for buying through an auction are 1) registering to bid 2) bidding 3) paying 4) and finally picking up or shipping your property. To buy from the Online store simply 1) register 2) click on item you wish to buy and 3) check out.

How do I register?
Registration is fast and easy. Click here to complete the new member registration application. You will receive an email confirming your membership and will immediately be able to begin bidding and buying items.

Who can register?
Anyone 18 years of age or older can register to bid on auctions or buy items on our online store because TucsonLiveAuction.com is available only to individuals who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. If you are under the age of 18, you can use TucsonLiveAuction.com only in conjunction with, and under the supervision of your parents or guardians.

How do you settle disputes between buyers and sellers?
The fastest and easiest way to resolve a dispute is to contact the buyer or seller and try to resolve the problem. If you have exhausted all means, TucsonLiveAuction.com will arbitrate the disagreement. Please view our Terms and Conditions for more information.


Bidding
How do I place a bid?
First, find an item you want to bid on in the Auctions section of our website. Then click on that item so that you can read the description and learn more about the item. If you would like to place a bid on the item you then click the “Place Bid” button.  On the next page you will then be able to enter a bid amount.  Your bid amount must exceed the current highest bid by at least the set bid increment. Remember, each bid you place enters you into a binding contract.

How do I know if I have been outbid?

When another buyer’s bid is higher than your maximum price, you will receive an email notifying you that you have been outbid (if you sign up for email notification). If the auction is still open, you will have a chance to place a new bid or proxy bid by going back to the auction page or by logging into My Account. If you choose not to sign up for email notification you may visit the Auction Page, view your watch list or my transactions page to see the highest bidder.

How do I know if I won my bid?
The winning bidder of all items is notified with a winning confirmation e-mail. Another way to check to see if you won your bid is to log on and click "My Account" and then viewing "My Transactions".

What do I do if I win a bid?
Follow all the steps in the checkout process for Buyer's or seller's.  Bidding increments are:  $0.01 to $49.99 is $2.50; $50.00 to $99.99 is $5.00; $100.00 to $499.99 is $10.00; $500.00 to $999.99 is $25.00; $1000.00 to $4999.99 is $50.00; $5000.00 to $24,999.99 is $100.00; $25,000 to $49,999.99 is $500.00; $50,000.00 to $999,999.99 is $1,000.00; $1,000,000.00 to $2,999,999.99 is $2,500.00; $3,000,000.00 to $4,999,999.99 is $5,000.00.

What is a proxy bid?
You can use Proxy Bidding to automatically bid for you. When you place a bid, you enter the maximum amount you would be willing to pay for the item. The TucsonLiveAuction.com system compares your bid to those of the other bidders. The system then places bids on your behalf, using only as much of your bid as is necessary to maintain your high bid position. This means you don't have to keep coming back to re-bid every time another bid is placed. The proxy bidding system will continue to make bids up to your maximum amount. If another bidder has a higher maximum, you will be outbid. BUT, if no other bidder has a higher maximum, you win the item (and you could pay significantly less than your maximum price!). You cannot lower your bid, however, you may raise your bid by bidding again. Proxy bids are private and are never displayed to other bidders.

Are all bids binding?
Yes. Except for a very few circumstances (such as an obvious typo), each bid you place enters you into a binding contract. If such an error occurs you must immediately contact us to correct the problem.

How do I retract a bid?
A bid is a binding contract. Once the bid has been placed, it cannot be cancelled or retracted.

The auction was about to close but the bid time was extended.
Why did this happen?

If a bid is placed within the final 3 minutes of an auction the time of the auction is automatically extended by 3 minutes. This automatic extension benefits the buyer because it protects you from “last minute bidders” and gives you more time to respond with a new bid. The auction will be extended as many times as necessary until there are no bids placed in the last 3 minutes before closing.

What is a Buyer’s Premium?
A Buyer's Premium is an additional fee traditionally charged by auction houses on the sale of fine goods. It is added to the winning bid price and is payable by the buyer to the seller as part of the total sale price. The Buyer’s Premium varies by item and not all items carry the premium.


Selling
Who can sell on the site?
All sellers must be 18 years of age or older and must complete an approval process before they may begin selling. You can request seller authorization on our Registration Page or by contacting us directly.

Are there any items we can not sell?

TucsonLiveAuction.com has rules and policies to maintain a safe and fair trading environment for all members. As a seller you are responsible for reviewing these policies and regulations outlined in the User Agreement. Items that are prohibited from being sold include but are not limited too: Tabacco, Fire Arms, Adult Oriented Materials, Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia (prescription or otherwise), Alcohol, Hazardous Materials (such as fireworks and Freon), Human Body Parts and Remains, Stolen Property, anything pertaining to gambling, lotteries or other auction sites. If and when policy violation occurs, the listing will be ended and all buyers and sellers will be notified.

How do I put a product up for sale?
Sign in, then go to My Account, then to My Products.  Go to Create Products.  From Product Information:  Submit new assets information.  From Images:  Upload Images by clicking Add Image.  Add Inventory.  Click Continue.  You have now added this product information into your data base.  You may now decide if the item will be Allocated to an Auction or The Online Store. For Auction Allocation:  Click My Account, then My Auctions.  From Manage Lots:  You must Develop a lot for any item going into an Auction;  you may choose to add more than one lot to any Auction.  Create lot:  Complete lot Information:  Highlight products you would like to allocate to the Auction by clicking Add.  Click Submit.  Back to My Account, then My Auction, Create Auction then add Auction Information.  Shipping Logistics:  Select Address and click Complete Domestic Shipping/and International Shipping options.  Click Continue.  Review Auction Details; click Publish Auction; click My Account; click Auction on left navigational tool bar to Review New Auction.  Adding a product to the Online Store:  Follow the steps to add a new product to the data base.  Click My Store; Create Product.  From Product Information, click the underlined Choose Product.  A new window will pop up.  Find and select from the category.  The information on that item will automatically load.  Complete Price and Inventory.  Shipping and Logistics, select Address, complete Domestic and International Shipping, click Continue, My Account.  Review new item in Online Store.
Click,  My Account, My Profile, Logo, Browse,  Click on your logo, Update Logo. 

Is there a fee to become a seller?
Yes, there is a commission that will be charged when your item sells on TucsonLiveAuction.com. The standard commission rate is 15% of the final sales price. This rate may be adjusted if you are evaluated by TucsonLiveAuction.com and determined to be a frequent seller or a seller of large volume. By listing an item for sale, you agree to pay TucsonLiveAuction.com the fees and payment schedule established by agreement between you and TucsonLiveAuction.com.

Why do I have to have a credit card on file?
All clients selling items on TucsonLiveAuction.com must have a credit card or Pay Pal account registered with our site. Your selling commission will automatically be charged to your credit card or PayPal account if your TucsonLiveAuction.com account is in default. All credit card and personal information is secure and confidential and is outlined in detail in our Privacy Policy.

Can I revise or relist my item?
Yes, you may revise your item as many times as you wish before a bid is placed. However, once a bid has been placed no revisions are allowed. You may re-list your item as many times as you wish.

Do you consign product?
Yes. The consignment rate is 33%. Please contact us at info@tucsonliveauction.com.

 


Partners
What is a partner site?
A partner site is a site that, for a fee, has been "franchised" to another company. A partner site utilizes all of the components of the TucsonLiveAuction.com site yet gives the ability to customize areas of the site to incorporate your company's business module. For example, if you currently have a company named "ACME Auction's" and you would like to have an auction website or online store, you could purchase a franchise from TucsonLiveAuction.com. When you do this, TucsonLiveAuction.com will set up a custom url for your site (eg. acmeauctions.com) and customize your home page with the ACME logo and graphics. The architecture of the site would remain the same and TucsonLiveAuction.com would still host the site, however, your company would be able to set up your own contacts, determine your commission rates, etc. Another example would be to start a new business with the TucsonLiveAuction.com brand. An example would be NevadaLiveAuction.com or NewYorkLiveAuction.com. In addition to a flat franchising fee, additional costs may be incurred.

How do I become a partner?

Can I lease just part of the site?
Existing brick and mortar auction houses have the ability to lease the Live Auction module from TucsonLiveAuction.com. Advantages of leasing the Live Auction component of TucsonLiveAuction.com are that it gives your auction house the opportunity to expand your brand and increases the traffic for your auctions, which in turn increases your final bid price on items.


Shipping/Return Policy
What is the shipping policy?
Items purchased will be sent out within five business days of payment. If a shipping price is not showing on the item page please contact seller before bidding.

Can I pick up an item from the seller?
That can be negotiated directly with the seller.

Who pays for shipping costs?
The buyer pays for all shipping and handling costs.

Can I return my items?
All auction items are non-refundable. All items purchased in the online store have a seven day return policy.


Payment
What forms of payment do you accept?
TucsonLiveAuction.com accepts all major credit cards including VISA, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. We also accept PayPal and money orders.

When do I pay for my items?
When you purchase an item from the online store you pay immediately. When you purchase an item from an Auction you have three business days to complete your payment.

What if I don't pay for my item?
If you fail to pay for your item you will lose the right to any future purchases on TucsonLiveAuction.com.

How secure is the site?
All payment transactions take place over a secure connection. When completing a transaction, third-party sellers are required to use PayPal or to complete the transaction offline. Payments for products sold by TucsonLiveAuction.com using credit cards are made entirely through the system unless requested by the buyer.

Do I have to pay sales tax?
If you are purchasing from the state that the seller is based, you must pay the appropriate state sales tax for that state.
